Before you start
Do my files ever reach a RawDrop server?+
No. RawDrop is local-first: transfers happen directly between your devices over the network. We don't host, store, or scan your files. The only server component is a tiny local signaling helper that introduces devices to each other — it never sees file contents.
What exactly does "free" include vs "pro"?+
Free covers the everyday transfer: peer-to-peer local delivery, original quality, browser add-on, cross-device sync, no file-size cap, no account. Pro unlocks the four workspaces (Creative, 3D, Visual, Music) with field-specific presets, naming templates, sidecar bundling, redaction, geometry checks, font handling, and audio-aware transfer.
Will my RAW or 4K files be compressed?+
Never. RawDrop sends the bytes as-is. The receiver gets the exact same file you selected, bit for bit. There is no "optimize for sharing" step in any tier.
Is the redaction truly irreversible?+
On the Creative workspace, GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, author/copyright metadata, and XMP notes can be stripped before the file leaves your device. The copy that travels is cleaned — your original file on disk is untouched. The strip is one-way; RawDrop cannot restore what was removed.
